Clark, oh Clark...where to start? Clark is an all around fantastic dog. He's extremely social and sweet, confident and biddable. He has a big heart, wants to cuddle up with everyone, and play nursemaid to newborn lambs and kids. Clark is not a big marker, for a male, nor does he show any male-male aggression-or any aggression, for that matter, with the exception of strange dogs getting in his face being nipped at. Very high toy and moderate food drive make him easy to train obedience and tricks.
From the time I started Clark on stock at a year old, he has shown himself to be a wonderful stock dog in many areas. A huge factor in that is his uncanny ability to retain almost everything from every session and come into the next training session right where he left off the last one. The normal "2 steps forward, 1 step back" in dog training is extremely rare with Clark. He is loaded with natural ability, rate, balance, and style. He is naturally a wide outrunner, breaks off nicely when sent, and his flanks are clean and correct. Clark is a strong dog with a very hard bite. He has worked calves, pairs, and sheep. So far I haven't been able get him to acknowledge that ducks exist, and though he is fair with his bite, he bites so hard I don't dare work him on our dairy goat herd at this time.
I wish I had more stock work to prove this talented dog on. He is easily by far the best dog I've ever owned/possibly can ever hope to own. Maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Clark is proving to be a wonderful sire of stable, sporty and driven dogs that are excelling in agility and herding homes.
